Sun Setting with The Come Up

Posted By Jhudson

This Friday we made a trip out to the Roxy club off of Sunset, to see our good friend Dre Biggity along with Stevie Crooks perform at the Spliff. But before we made it in to the Roxy, Mateo and I decided to walk around and see what the Sunset strip had to offer us. Little did I know I was not expecting to run into a special friend by the name of Ms.Bobbi Marcus along with her family. She invited us to come watch her son Jake who is the drummer of a band by the name of Aurum Star. Another group that is truly on The Come Up. This group is made up of a group of young talented guys very passionate about their music and have a very fresh vibe to offer to their fans. After Mateo and I shook hands and let the camera flash we rolled over to the Roxy.

To get more information on Aurum Star please check them out at:
In the Roxy we ran into a few heads we have known from back in the day and were blessed with some very classic freestyles from a few up and comers one freestyle in particular was from our man Noa James be on the look out for him and his future projects. Then the 6"11 more like 6"7 Stevie crooks got on the mic and went to work. This cat is full of life and energy and he performed a couple of his dope songs off of his latest mixtape You Cant Stop The Crooks one song in particular that he performed that is a classic is Used To Love Her Pt 2. To listen to this track and many other dope tracks check him out at ..http://www.myspace.com/pvjf

After Crooks did his thing the crowd got blessed by our man Dre.Biggity. This cat is also on The Come Up as well. Dre Biggity and I go back Far enough to remember when this cat rocked braids and when we played Basketball growing up. It's very good to see him on his road to success. This man has many projects going on he has a clothing line UTB and many other projects you can read about on his website. Dre without a doubt was a crowd pleaser he made sure the crowd rocked with him and that he came correct on the mic.One song in particular that is an absolute classic I think heads are not ready for is Hello Tokyo. This song takes you to another place and makes you want to grab your passport and travel and see the world! Overtime you will see more of him on the site so be on the look out for him. To listen to his music check him out at http://www.myspace.com/dreborrows. Also special thanks to Brian Ortencio for holding The Come Up Team down.

Towards the end of the night I had to leave a lil early because I had a long drive home, Mateo had left early to be up for work but, before I left I ran into my boy Jon Muna who I haven't seen in a while we also go back far enough when rocking Phat Farm was the ish!
Over all we had a good time and check out the pictures to get a visual of what went down.
