Nike SB Dunk Low - “Wallenberg Palm Tree” Edition | Additional Photos

It is an anomaly to say the least but “that” (you most likely saw it on a skate video) little palm tree, which rooted itself in the midst of a concrete staircase, is getting its own Nike SB Dunk Low. Found on the grounds San Francisco’s Raoul Wallenberg Alternative School, the once unassuming palm tree on the second step became a fixture among skate videos during the 90s. As the years go by, so has the tree, and what was once a fixture is part of the Wallenberg course. This year, the tree will serve another purpose - an inspiration to designer Bob Kronbauer and Nike SB
As an impromptu 20th anniversary for the palm tree’s significance in skate culture, Kronbauer created a green gradient Dunk Low correlate to the tree’s colors. A glimpse of white and black along the edge of the sole, as well as the upper, translate to those famous steps outside of Wallenberg. Finally, a pixilated image of the palm tree imprinted on the sockliner, homage to its appearances in all the videos. Constructed in suede and hemp, the Nike SB Dunk Low Wallenberg will be available at selected Nike SB accounts soon, including Paul Rodriguez’s own Primitive
