The Come Up in NY | Last Days

The Come Up was blessed with a trip to New York to meet with a couple heads, network, and learn the lifestyle in the east coast.  I got a chance to meet a lot of amazing people and take some amazing shots while i was out there.  Special shout out to Maria & Erika of Officially F.A.D.E.D., the whole Rocket Science NYC crew, Solefood NYC, Kid Robot NYC, Bape/BBC heads, Supreme NYC, all the NY skaters i ran into, Gregory Skip Hill, and anyone else who showed me love while i was out in New York for the week.  I got the chance to attend some great events, hang out with some of the coolest people, for the people we missed due to timing, we will be back in NYC soon so make sure you touch basis with us beforehand.  I got a chance to get a lot of amazing footage make sure you look out for the NYC Episode, including events and interviews.  For the meantime check out the Day 1, "Tourist Day" video.  Check out the Photo sets from all the days as i post them:

Tourist day in New York was great, Erika and Maria took me all over the place, i started out in SOHO got to drop by all the boutiques, and shops to do some shopping.  After that they took me through China Town for some souvenir shopping for my fam and friends.  We then headed to Time Square where we hung out and snapped some shots.  We ended the day by dropping by the Brooklyn Bridge, we walked about halfway up and i took some shots, and before we knew it we had walked the entire bridge which takes u across the water from Manhattan to Brooklyn!

Down to business, we headed up to Brooklyn to shoot a interview with east coast artist Donny Goines.  After that we met up in SOHO where we shot a segment at Solefood NYC, a art gallery, boutique, and soul food spot!  We also dropped by a couple other spots, look out for the footage.

Mateo in NY | Day 1

Mateo has been in New York this whole week, he will be returning tonight for the LAx event, but check out his first day in NY before he got down to business.

New York | Day 1:

Today was my first official day in New York after touching ground in New York on Wednesday night.  I met up with the Officially F.A.D.E.D. ladies and they took me around New York to sightsee and shop.  We labeled the day my "tourist" day before we get down to business tomorrow with these interviews.  Unfortunately J-Hud wasn't able to come so being out here alone I'm working twice as hard, luckily I have F.A.D.E.D. to help me out too.  I always love traveling and being around different cultures and lifestyles.  This had to be the most walking I have ever done in a long time, not to mention the serious Jet lag from the 7 and a half hr flight.  We started the day taking the subway to SOHO in manhattan.  We visited stores such as, Supreme, Flight Club, BBC, Ice Cream, Stussy, & Kid Robot.  I think the thing that amazes me the most about New York, is the underground world they call the Subway.  I keep wondering how this was built, there's like 3 different levels underground, with many different tunnels running everywhere.  A lot of people walk and take these subways everywhere they go due to traffic in NY.  New York natives have to be the fastest walking people on the planet.  Everything out here is constantly "on the move" and aggressive.  After SOHO, we dropped by Chinatown then we moved on to Union Square.  I picked up a New York hotdog then we hit the subway again and ended up at Time Square.  I managed to shoot a couple shots as we hung out.  Then someone had the idea for us to walk the entire Brooklyn Bridge, which takes you across the from Brooklyn to Manhattan.  I shot some pics from the middle of the bridge over looking Manhattan as the ladies explained to me where the Twin Towers once were.  After that, we headed back to the subway to head home as we dropped by White Castle, home of the mini burgers and enjoyed dinner before going to the Apt. in Jamaica Queens, one of the most diverse boros, in New York.  Check out the Photoset

The Come Up Tv is headed to NY

We gotta apologize for the slow post this week, it's been a pretty hectic week as we prepare for our New York feature. We have been mad busy getting ready for the interviews, and dealing with contacts and flight confirmations. Unfortunately Justin wont be able to make it but Mateo will hold it down as he meets up with the ladies from F.A.D.E.D. in NY, stay tuned for weekly updates, pictures, and interviews.

First and foremost, we wanna wish all of our viewers Happy Holidays and thank you for all the support as we transition into the new year.  Starting January marks the OFFICIAL release of The Come Up.  We will be making major moves, as we finished off the year preparing ourselves for episodes, the new website, event, and collaborations for 2010.  So we are gonna take this time to introduce ourselves and let you know what we are about: The Come Up Tv was founded less than a year ago with Mateo Berry & Justin Hudson.  Despite being dedicated to bringing new fashion, music, and news to the table we are also dedicated to motivating and inspiring our viewers to being something great and pursuing out their goals and dreams. We hope through the interviews that we do, the places we travel, and information we collect inspires our viewers to pursue their dreams.  The Come Up, for 2010 has major plans in which are separated in categories:

Online Blog/Magazine:
Our online blog covers upcoming releases, people "on the come up", events, happenings, etc.  Our main focus is Fashion, Footwear, Skate, Music, Technology, Art/Design, and all aspects surrounding them. All of out interviews/video interviews and features will be posted on our website.  Possible hard copy publishing mid 2010.

The Come Up Tv:
Starting 2010 The Come Up will be dropping episodes and segments with Groups, Artists, Skaters, Designers, Companies, Musicians, Etc who are "On the Come Up."  We also do media packages for events, Photoshoots, EPK, Etc. The Come Up Weekly Update

Last week was a very busy week , as we all know Christmas was here and not to mention we had some last minute shopping to do for the fam. At the sametime we still managed to stay true and cover a few events last week.

The first event we went to was the weekly Poetry lounge every Tuesday at Fair Fax highschool . We met up with a few friends and of course snapped some flicks of some of the local poets and they do come with some true words every week. More photos can be viewed on the photo set, Click Here

The next day which was Christmas Eve we were over at Jane's house in Hollywood for The LAx Paper Boys annual Christmas party sponsored by Meister watches with guest performances by Rob Roy, Dom Kennedy and  Pac Div. As the night went on more and more heads began to pack the spot and support the Just Be Cool movement. To finish the week off we rolled over to Sutra Night club in Newport Beach to support our friends from Mbarqgo who had a Holiday party at the Sutra Night club. We can't forget to shout out our boy Courtney from Circle of Success  and Muhammad for rolling out with us that night as well.
